Head of SHIPU meeting with Ugandan and UK investment delegation

The Head of the House of Representatives Investor Protection Unit (SHIPU), Colonel Edith Nakalema, today received a UK delegation led by Mr Jaffer Kapasi OBE, Consul General of Uganda in the Midlands.

The meeting took place at the unit’s offices in Kampala.

The delegation was made up of several investors who have left their mark in various sectors such as construction.

During the meeting, Col. Nakalema highlighted Uganda’s growing potential as an investment hub, driven by initiatives spearheaded by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Colonel Nakalema said President Museveni’s visionary leadership and efforts have provided an enabling environment to attract local and foreign investors to the country.

For their part, investors already established in Uganda expressed their enthusiasm for SHIPU’s new e-investor protection portal, saying it will safeguard and promote investments in Uganda.

Kapasi said they are committed to enhancing their investments and promised to invite larger investors to explore the vast opportunities in Uganda.
