Anne Hathaway combines Gap shirt dress with Bulgari jewelry

The actress wore a custom Gap look designed by Zac Posen.

Anne Hathaway was recently spotted wearing a fashion brand you may have heard of before: Gap.

While the retailer hasn’t always been known as a red carpet staple, the actress strongly defended the clothing brand when she attended a Bulgari jewelry event in Rome on Monday.

“The Devil Wears Prada” star wore an asymmetrically buttoned 100% organic cotton shirt dress custom designed by Gap’s new creative director and executive vice president, Zac Posen.

Hathaway paired the look with Bulgari jewelry, white pumps, and a silver purse.

Her look was inspired by Gap’s classic button-down shirt and was used as “a blank canvas to express style and creativity,” the brand shared in a statement.

Celebrity stylist Erin Walsh styled the look with an off-the-shoulder strap and the bottom half left undone. A white corset and pleated shorts were worn underneath.

“The dress mimics the collar and placket construction of the shirt, but adds a feminine touch with waist darts and a matching corset,” Gap said in a press release. “It’s a modern look, inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s iconic film, ‘Roman Holiday.’

The dress was custom made for Hathaway, but the brand plans to sell a version online soon, without the shorts.
