The Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court has ruled that a South African Navy sailor, accused of drink-driving and knocking down two cyclists in December last year, can get his driving license back.

Garth Pasha, 27, was released on R5,000 bail in December and, as part of his bail conditions, the state revoked his license due to the seriousness of the charges.

Pasha is charged with reckless and negligent driving, drink-driving and attempted murder after he allegedly ran over cyclist Dewald van der Westhuizen and his coach Mike Moriarty on Simon’s Town Main Road.
