75-year-old man arrested in connection with death of Brian Low in Aberfeldy

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a dog walker who was allegedly fatally shot in Aberfeldy more than three months ago.

Brian Low’s body was discovered alongside his black Labrador at around 8.30am on Saturday, February 17 in the Pitillie area outside Aberfeldy.

The 65-year-old’s death was initially considered “non-suspicious and medical-related,” but six days later it was confirmed that he died from a gunshot wound to the neck and chest.

Police confirmed on Friday that a 75-year-old man has been arrested and is in custody being questioned by detectives from the Major Investigation Team.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Today, Friday 24 May 2024, a 75-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of Brian Low in Aberfeldy.

“At around 8.30am on Saturday 17 February 2024, the body of Mr Low, aged 65, was discovered in the Pitllie area on the outskirts of the city. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The detainee is in custody being interrogated by detectives from the Major Investigation Team.

“As the investigation is ongoing, we cannot comment further at this time.

“The matter remains active for the purposes of the Contempt of Court Act 1981 and the public is therefore advised to exercise caution when discussing it on social media.”
