Giovanni Pernice breaks social media silence after addressing Strictly Come Dancing ‘bullying’ allegations

Giovanni Pernice broke his silence on social media after addressing the allegations against him last week.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, 33, has been at the center of a media storm lately after his famous partner from last year’s series, Amanda Abbington, made claims about his behavior behind the scenes and his nature of ” intimidation”.

Last week it was reported that the Italian dancer decided to leave the BBC show due to the allegations, although Pernice themselves and Strictly Come Dancing have yet to confirm this.

“Gio feels the scrutiny on him has become too much, and now it’s time to start again,” a source reportedly told The Sun.

“He wants to focus on other TV projects and feels he has achieved all he can on Strictly, having won the trophy in 2021 and reached the final an unprecedented four times.

“He remains convinced that he has done nothing wrong other than being a tough taskmaster, but he knows that his training style is not to everyone’s liking, especially in these times.”

Pernice appeared once again on his girlfriend Molly Brown’s Instagram and broke his silence on Friday by posting a comment, seemingly unfazed by the claims.

Brown shared a photo of the two apparently on vacation enjoying a glass of wine, and Pernice left a comment consisting of a series of emojis, including a heart, a llama, and heart eyes.

He appears to be focusing his attention on other areas of his life away from the ongoing claims, which are said to have been supported by other former dancer partners.

Abbington, 52, decided to leave Strictly early last year in the competition following rumors of a “feud” with Pernice.

Recently, it was claimed he labeled Pernice “abrasive”, with the Sherlock star detailing a “terrible” experience on the show.

A source told the Sun on Sunday: “Giovanni had a harsh training method. Amanda would get hurt. Amanda had a terrible experience with Gio. She felt his behavior was intimidating and abrasive.

“She cried when communication between them broke down. She tried every means to try to make it work.

“There would be crisis conversations every Friday after the producers watched their rehearsal video, but it would always end up being toxic again by the end of the following week.

Abbington has been making claims about her time on Strictly since she left last year.

“The runners monitored the training weekly and she was regularly seen crying and feeling very sad and dejected. She desperately wanted it to work, but it invariably broke down. An urgent medical condition finally allowed her to quit.”

While both have remained publicly quiet about the situation, Pernice issued a statement on social media rejecting the claims.

She hasn’t said anything else since, but it appears she’s focusing on other things, with another post from earlier this week from Brown showing the couple with a new puppy.
