How to apply for multi-million dollar tenders announced by Kenya Railways

The Kenya Railways Corporation has announced nine multi-million dollar tenders open to interested bidders.

In a notice published in the Tuesday, May 21 edition of Mygov, the corporation revealed that one of the tenders is for the construction of apartments for residents at Msaada Estate in Mombasa County.

All Kenyans interested in this tender are urged to submit their proposals through the correct channel by May 31, 2024 before 10 am

Another tender announced by the corporation is for General Insurance Brokerage Service and all bidders must submit their proposals by May 31 at 2 pm.

Additionally, Kenya Railways is seeking bidders to provide commercial display screens. These screens will be used for advertising and entertainment. Bidders interested in the above tender are urged to submit their bids by June 3 at 10 am.

Kenya Railways is also seeking a bidder to relocate Mwamdudu Secondary School, a public institution affected by the SGR Mombasa-Nairobi-Naivasha project. Offers for this tender must be submitted before June 3 at 2:00 p.m.

The Meat Training Institute in Athi River has also been affected by the project and bids for it must be submitted by June 4, before 10am.

Other tenders include printing of SGR passenger tickets, supply and delivery of tires for motor vehicles and heavy machinery, purchase of spare parts for locomotives, and printing and delivery of printed safety material (commuter train tickets, parking tickets and reconciliation book).

Offers for the above tenders must be submitted by June 4 before 2 p.m., June 5 before 10 a.m., June 5 before 2 p.m. and June 6 before 10 a.m., respectively. .

How to bid
All bidders are urged to download the tender documents from the official website. krc.co.ke and the PPIP website tender.go.ke or the official of the General Manager of the Kenya Railways Headquarters in Nairobi.

Anyone downloading the tender documents must register their interest immediately by sending an email to [email protected] indicating their names, email, postal and telephone addresses and details of the tender.

Bidders will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh 1,000.

“Complete tender documents (accompanied by a tender guarantee in the amount and form specified in the tender document) in sealed envelopes must be clearly marked with the “Tender No. and Tender Description”: and addressed to the Director General and will be deposited in the tender box at the Kenya Railway headquarters.” read part of the notice.

All bids will be opened in the presence of representatives of the bidders who choose to attend at the Kenya Railways headquarters.
