Hauwanga resigns from NCCI leadership – Latest news

Businessman Benjamin Hauwanga on Tuesday announced his resignation from the board of directors of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) and the position of chairman of the Ongwediva branch.

He told The Namibian that he does not believe the NCCI is helping the business community as its board of directors is not made up of businessmen.

“The chamber’s board of directors is controlled by parastatal heads, CEOs and managing directors, rather than businessmen, as it should be,” Hauwanga said.

“It’s disappointing to realize that the chamber doesn’t serve its members, the business community, so they’re not really there to help the business community.”

However, Hauwanga will remain an ordinary paid member of the NCCI, he added.
