‘Job seeker’ steals firearm – NewsDay

A HARARE man, who was looking for work as a domestic worker, is behind bars for stealing a firearm from his prospective employer.

The suspect, Romeo Muzira (27), was remanded in custody until tomorrow by Harare Magistrate Dennis Mangosi to apply for bail.

Prosecutor Thomas Chanakira said on May 10 that Muzira went to the complainant’s place of residence in Chadcombe looking for work as a gardener, but the complainant indicated he had no work to offer.

Muzira left, but returned later, entered the house and stole a Special Astra 250 revolver firearm with two cartridges.

He also stole a Lenovo laptop, an umbrella, a wristwatch, $15 and a G-tel cell phone.

He faces another charge of contravening the Firearms Act after he was arrested trying to sell the firearm.
