US TV presenter Steve Harvey to visit Kenya in September after meeting Ruto

Renowned American television presenter Steve Harvey has announced that he will visit Kenya in September 2024.

Speaking on Tuesday during a meeting with President William Ruto at the Tyler Perry studios in Atlanta, Harvey said he will visit Kenya in September, which is when he takes his vacation.

After the September visit, Harvey will return to Kenya in December for an official function.

He said the visit will come before the filming of his game show “Family Feud” in Johannesburg, South Africa.

“When I met my brother (President Ruto), he invited me to Kenya. It turns out that September is when I take my vacation.

“I’m going to start filming Family Feud again in Johannesburg, but this time in Botswana. So I’ll be on that side of the world before I go see my brother (Ruto) and hang out in Kenya, this is a dream come true,” Harvey said.

The television host had received President Ruto and his entourage at the Studios, representing Tyler Perry who was absent attending to other commitments.

President Ruto, for his part, said the partnership will change the trajectory of Kenya’s creative industry.

He said that when Harvey visits, the government will have aligned critical areas and will be ready to work with him, along with other players in the creative business.

The president added that it would be wise for Harvey, along with others, to act as mentors and inspiration to local creatives.

“This is going to change our trajectory, we are going to plan more and I want to be grateful to the people around this table. Thank you, my good brother, for what you are doing with us in Kenya and I want to promise you that when you come, you will find the government aligned to work with you and the people in that space so we can do more together.

“All of us in Hollywood appreciate you and want to see what we can do together so that you can act as an inspiration and mentor to many in Kenya who want to do what you do,” added President Ruto.
