Audi RS 4 Avant Edition 25 years old is the family man’s sports car, it has 470 horsepower

Audi launches an anniversary edition, paying tribute to the RS 4 Avant sports estate on the model’s 25th anniversary. Only 50 copies will arrive in the United Kingdom. The special edition comes with a matching design.

Audi began the Avant adventure with the RS2 and the S6 back in the 90s. But the first RS model of the Quattro brand was the RS4 Avant of the B5 generation of 1999. It came with a widened body and a six-cylinder biturbo engine. and 2.7 liters developed in collaboration with Cosworth. It produced an impressive 380 metric horsepower.

Things multiplied and the sportiest version of the RS 4 generation arrived in 2001, called RS4 Sport. It was closer to the pavement and had bucket seats, a sport exhaust, and a suede-wrapped steering wheel.

The new RS 4 Avant 25 Years Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter biturbo V6 engine that generates 470 horsepower, 20 more compared to the regular RS 4 Avant. Consequently, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) 0.4 seconds faster than the standard version, in 3.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 186 mph.

The car is equipped as standard with RS ceramic brakes for better stopping power and with an RS sports exhaust system with matte black tailpipes for an intense soundtrack.

The new Audi RS 4 Avant 25 Years Edition is also equipped as standard with the RS pro sports suspension, which is a manually adjustable coil-over suspension, giving the car a ride height that is 10 millimeters lower than that of the regular RS 4 Avant. . In addition, those behind the wheel can opt for an even lower position, reaching a total lowering of 20 millimeters.

A quattro sport differential is on the menu, while Audi engineers retuned the transmission for quicker gear changes. In addition, they also increased the negative camber of the front axle by two degrees and installed stiffer control arms.

To improve aerodynamics and a sportier appearance, the roof racks have been removed.

The car rides on 20-inch matte palladium alloy wheels, wrapped in high-performance Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires designed for both road and track. Whoever drives the special edition RS 4 home will also get the P Zero Trofeo RS semi-slick tires with Pirelli sensor and the Pirelli Track Adrenaline system.

A Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system is standard, as is the 360-degree camera and wireless phone charging.

The anniversary edition can be ordered in one of three available paints: Nardo Grey, Mythos Black and Imola Yellow. The inscription “RS 4 25 years edition” appears on the windows between the C and D pillars, but also on board, under the headrest of the RS bucket seats covered in a combination of black/yellow leather/Alcantara, inspired by the 2001 RS4 sport.

The RS 4 logo is on the floor mats for the first time, while unique lettering on the center console shows the sequential number of each individual car starting with 1 of 250.

The model starts at 115,880 pounds, which translates to $147,703. Only 50 copies will be available in the UK and the rest will be available worldwide.

Audi is also launching the new RS 5 Sportback Performance Edition, which comes with the same powertrain upgrades. It is the most powerful Audi RS 5 ever made. It takes 3.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph, 0.2 seconds faster than the regular version. Top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph.

The RS pro sports suspension with progressive steering and an improved Torsen differential equip the model. Only 10 of these cars will reach the UK market.
