Traffic backed up for 10 kilometers after six-car crash on Sydney Highway

The accident took place at around 5.50am on the M5 at Edmondson Park, in the south west of the city.

Two of the four lanes heading into the city were closed, but have now reopened.

Traffic was backed up 10 kilometers to Narellan Road in Mount Annan, ensuring a long journey to the city for commuters from the southwest.

One person was injured and taken to hospital after the accident.

Travelers are advised to allow additional time for travel this morning.
