Metro Vancouver receives heavy rain warning Wednesday night

If you were waiting for Tuesday’s rain to clear up in Metro Vancouver, you’ll first have to weather an overnight storm.

Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a rain warning Tuesday morning, saying a frontal system is bringing heavy rain especially to northern regions of Metro Vancouver.

Up to 50 millimeters of rain is expected to fall in the North Shore and Metro Vancouver area Wednesday morning.

“Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and puddles of water on roads. Localized flooding is possible in low-lying areas,” the ECCC warned.

ECCC says the rain will begin to taper off Wednesday morning.
