Carvajal: “Kroos is irreplaceable” – Gestionando Madrid

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal acknowledged the immense challenge of replacing Toni Kroos following the legendary midfielder’s retirement announcement on Tuesday.

“He’s irreplaceable,” Carvajal said. “We will have players who could come close, but at the end of the day, Kroos is a unique player.”

The sentiment reflects a collective sense of loss within the club. Carvajal continued: “We are all sad. We know what a brilliant player he is and how much he contributed to our recent success. But obviously we respect and support his decision.”

Kroos, who continues to play at an exceptional level after a remarkable 2023-24 season, will end his career after the next European Championship. The European Championship offers him the opportunity to add the only important trophy missing from his decorated display case.

The German midfielder has two games left to play for Real Madrid, Saturday’s home game against Betis and the crucial Champions League final at Wembley.
