Post-exertional malaise (PEM) and long Covid

The Clinical Management and Operations Unit of the WHO Health Emergencies Program supports a webinar program on the post-COVID-19 (also known as Long Covid) condition. The series aims to build the capacity of doctors around the world to identify, diagnose and treat patients with post-COVID-19 diseases.

Post-exertional malaise (PEM) is fatigue and worsening symptoms after even minor physical or mental exertion. It is commonly reported by people with a post-COVID-19 condition and can affect your ability to exercise, work, or perform daily activities. In this webinar, you will hear how to identify post-exertional discomfort and interventions to support patients and aid recovery.
