In full view of referee Liam Gordon, his officials, an attendance of 19,893 and a large television audience, Mark Rodgers scored a ’65’ from the wrong position in the final seconds of the Clare-Waterford match last Sunday.

He scored the winning goal, a result that could eliminate Waterford from the championship. Had the rules applied he would not have counted and the game would have ended tied, earning Waterford a precious point.
