The Third Global Consultation on the Health of Refugees and Migrants

With the aim of establishing lasting leadership and commitment for the health of refugees and migrants, WHO, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Morocco jointly organized the Third World Health Consultation. of Refugees and Migrants in Rabat, Morocco, from June 13 to 15, 2023, and led to the adoption of the Rabat Declaration.

The Third Global Consultation aimed to strengthen high-level political commitment with the aim of improving, protecting and preserving the health and well-being of refugees, migrants and host communities. This document is a summary of the key messages from the consultation report, including the centrality of country-led action; understand the needs of the population; and the importance of including refugees and migrants in universal health coverage, addressing social determinants of health and in data and research-based approaches.
